There's this gritty old tramp who's been camping under the bridge near my place, a real fixture in the shadows. I’ve spotted him for ages, so one day I decided to toss him some grub—nothing fancy, just a raw, human gesture to keep the guy from starving.
My chick saw the whole damn thing and spent the rest of the night bitching, whining that I shouldn’t waste my pity on “those bums” because they’ve dug their own filthy graves.

I’m stuck behind the cash register at this damn store, scanning barcodes day in and day out. One day, I catch a kid—maybe 12 years old—sneaking a chocolate bar into her pocket like some wannabe thief. I stride over, snatch it from her without a word, and boom—she bursts into tears, spilling her guts about her mom being in the hospital and nothing but stale bread at home to eat.

Then, her drunken, raging stepdad stumbles in, looking like he just crawled out of a gutter. He starts screaming at her right there in front of everyone, spit flying, face red as hell. I’ve had enough of this shitshow, so I kick his sorry ass out of the store. Now I’m left wondering—what’s the move here? Call the cops, show them the security footage, and slap a theft charge on the kid? Or…

😢 - Wash my hands of it, dial up the authorities, and let them sort out this mess.
👍 - Screw the rules, bury the incident, and buy the poor girl some decent food to fill her belly.
