So, I’m hitched, right? Headed off to serve in early July, and just two months in, I get this gut-punch from my wife over the phone: “Babe, I’ve gotta confess, I’ve been meeting up with my ex. No funny business, I swear! He’s just been slipping me cash and bawling his eyes out about how much he misses me, begging to get back together. But don’t worry, I only talked about you—how much I’m head over heels for you!”
When I pressed her on how many times they’d met, she hit me with “a lot.” A fucking lot. Now I’m just biding my time ‘til demobilization to sort this divorce mess out. Word of advice, lads—don’t tie the knot before shipping out to the army. It’s a damn trap, not worth the heartbreak!
